Courchevel dries up for 2008

Fortunately, depending on how you look at it, this is not one of the many references to global warming.
Unfortunately it refers to the diminishing number of English bars in 1850. At the end of last winter Gringos was destroyed as part of the major Padisha redevelopment. The latest casualty is bar LÃEquipe which wonÃt be opening for the 2007-08 season.
After many (unfounded) complaints by their elderly neighbours to the police last season the running of one of the few English bars/restaurants has been made nearly impossible. This is a great shame as, despite only being open for 3 seasons, the LÃequipe became very popular with clients for everything from morning coffees, free internet access, tasty lunches and an excellent dinner menu.
It will be missed.
