End of summer report

Well summer is over, which is strange because weather-wise the sun is out and itís feeling more like July than September. For the rest of Courchevel itís looking more like a building site than a ski resort. Pavements around town are being re-paved.
Yellow cranes feverishly feed the sites below with rebar and concrete as they attempt to get them to a certain point before the winter season starts.
There is a new crater to the right of the Hotel Courcheneige which I believe is part of an attempt to give easier access to the hotel for the fire dept. Having said that if it isnít filled in soon the Bellecote poma, which runs directly through the area, will be inactive this winter.
The hole where the petrol station/Auberge was is now even larger. About 3 stories deep now with foundations only now being layed. If I worked for Supertravel or Scott Dunn I would be slightly worried about the effect these have on their chalets and clients. Chalet La Vieille Forge(Supertravel) and Chalet Aurea (Scott Dunn) both overlook very un-alpine scenery. Iím sure the reps are practicing their welcome lines ìOn the left we have a wonderful view of the valley and the snow capped mountains and on the right we have a shell of a building/ large holeî especially when the clients are paying upwards of 1 to 2G for the week. But enough of the negativity.
I look forward to seeing everyone in November as they get back to resort. Anyone coming to the skishow in London should come and pay me a visit to the Snow and Rock eyewear stand.
