Injuries of the week 9

posted: 2006-02-04
The list of injuries this week are long and distinguished but proved the point that the snow conditions are very hard and unforgiving. Michelle (fatface) broke her wrist requiring 2 pins to be inserted into the bone.
In the spirit of one-upmanship Karin (whitestuff) managed to break her wrist too only she required 3 pins to hold her shattered bones together.
Down in 1550 Sasha (Scott Dunn) broke her ankle while rushing back to her chalet to get changed for work. Apparently she was taking an intensive hands on night course in French accountancy and after a exhaustingly long session of double entry bookkeeping she slightly overslept. Maybe she should have taken her alarm clock with her.
In the board park Ryan (Ingham) became the latest victim of the hard conditions. After landing very hard he was bloodwagoned off the mountain and taken down to Chambery hospital where a scan revealed he had injured his L2 (isn't that one of the stations on the Jardin Alpin lift?) vertebrae. Luckily thanks to his youthful physic and clean living lifestyle he will be back on his feet and prowling the dance floor in Kalico in no time. Ryan would like to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.
Unfortunately with the absence of Ryan, Neil and Sandy from the resort the Jump bar, L'equipe and Kalico are all reporting profit warnings as the alcohol intake at all the bars drops to sobering level.
Ex-seasonnaire Alex Wager made his mark on the resort when his mate Rupert decided to debag a large french man in Kalico. As you can imagine he didn't see the funny side of things and a melee ensued resulting in an superficial injury to Alex and a fatlip to Charlie.
Charlie(L'equipe) was looking like he had been given a voucher for the Leslie Ash collagen injection institute for his birthday. More truthfully he was on the receiving end of a wildly thrown head butt in the Kalico.
After a long 9-5 session on the piste with Steve Dunsire, Neil(Inghams) has been walking around quite gingerly after receiving a large bruise to the right of his arse. He blames it on contact with a rock while skiing the forth valley but when Steve is involved who can tell?
