As there is no paper enquirer this week you have to make do with a few shorter article posted in this online version.
Last Thursday when I started my lengthy 5 week convalescence I though spending all day lying on my sofa, leg in the air, laptop on my lap would be an excellent way to catch up with work and watch some movies. How wrong I was. By Thursday afternoon I was bored stupid. Instead of catching up with work I got inundated with new work. To top that every morning a nice lady arrived to stick a hypodermic into my stomach, a task I relish first thing before breakfast and now have to be self administered.
Then these crutches, by the time I make it 100 meters up the (slight) hill to the Croisette I feel like IÃve done 100 press ups and am IÃm perspiring like a pig. Add into the formula the excruciating pain whenever I go from the prone position to hoping around with crutches and you get some idea why I havenÃt been seen around town. Luckily after a brief trip to Moutiers general on Monday to see an orthopaedic surgeon the prognosis was that extra metalwork was not required.
I would like to close by saying thank you to everyone who has come and offered me their support and help. To nurse
Jen(Ski Higher) who has chauffeured me around to various doctor surgeries. To
Racheal who drove me down to Hyperchampion for a spot of food shopping. Hoping around behind a shopping trolley does guarantee strange looks from fellow shoppers and is also a surprisingly good workout.
