Mel the chased

Finally making her debut in this fine publication. Mel (Inghams) was the centre of attention on Monday night. Dr Waq, Hamish (Simply Ski), Fat boy (Le Jump), Mikey (SDS) and Tom (Ski Cocktail) were all in the running as they went to Kalico.
So here we have the commentary from the ì2am Mel pursuit handicap steeplechaseî from the Kalico for Chalet boys 18 year olds and up. The going was good to firm and as they left the stalls Tom ìMountain Orchidî took up the early running but hesitated at the first fence, throwing his rider.
Mikey ìRed Bumî took up the pace to lead by a tongue very closely followed by Hamish ìTeletasticî, Fat Boy ìSingle at lastî with Dr Waq ìLaughing boyî bringing up the rear. Each of them sure that their stamina would last the course. With 2 furlongs to go it was anyoneís race with some physical contact between the jockeys. As they rounded the last bend known as the Porte de Courchevel Fat boy ìpulledî clear of the pack, who realising defeat took a wrong turning and ended up in Le Caves where they started the ì4 a.m. dodgy French disco invitational for crash and burn victimsî.
As Fat boy was led into victory circle (B120) by Mel for a victory drink ,a good rub down and a sugar lump, he was witness to, what is now know as the Monday night ritual between Talan (First Choice) and Kim (Inghams).
I could go on and describe what happened that night using more equine metaphors, but not even I, with a straight face could use the words ìstallionî and ìfat boyî in the same sentence without laughing out loud.
So as not to make to much noise, Mel does a great impression of Thomas the tank engine. (think about it! Shhh shhh).
Next week weíll find out how ìThe Fat controllerî got on with ìThomasî.
