Fat waiters win 3 valley rally - Courchevel Enquirer
Last Wednesday saw the first three valleys rally to take place in two years. Due to bad weather and other variables there have previously only been one valley rallies. A record turn out of 18 teams from nearly every ski company in Courchevel and some in Meribel gathered outside Gringos before they set of around the three valley circuit.
The first checkpoint thinned out the field, as many didn't know where the Derby du Roc Merlet started. Suspicion of complicity between one of the judges and team Ghost was confirmed when they arrived at the checkpoint before the judges did.
The second checkpoint at the top of Mont Vallon was most notable for the Scott Dunn team Men at work of PMT throwing their toys out the pram when their poles and skis were hidden. It was while skiing down Mont Vallon that the only major injury of the day occurred. One of the members of team chalet Chanterelle fell badly concusing herself.
By checkpoint 3 at the top of the Le Moutiers chair in Val Thorens only 10 teams remained. Those who arrived were subjected to the first of three climbs before having to perform sexual positions to camera.
The lead two teams of Ghosts and Fat Waiters arrived at checkpoint 4 at 3.15 where each team as a forfeit they had to climb up another powdercovered slope and then roll back down. By 4.30 when the last lift returned to Courchevel only 8 teams remained.
The last checkpoint was situated at the top of the Chenus bubble where two very inebriated Inghams girls, who after consuming the majority of a bottle of vodka spent the rest of the day smashed out of their skulls on the floor in the Jump.
Each member of the 3rd place team won a drinks card for use in TJ's and Gringos. Each member of the 2nd place team won 200FF vouchers to spend in Ski Higher. Each member of the wining team won 200FF vouchers to spend in White stuff.
