Extreme Snowballing - Courchevel Enquirer
With the mercury barely registering on a thermometer and the simian primates well and truly freezing their brassed balls off, Picnics on the Piste unveiled their inaugural extreme snowball arena outside Kalico. Lit up with spotlights, and fuelled with vin chaud, teams of seasonnaires from Mark Warner, Skiworld, Skival, Ski Higher, battled it out for the honour and glory.
With the simple rules of 1 point given for hitting an opposing team member and 5 points for hitting the picnics banner behind them it was down to who could fling the most chunks of snow and ice.
It was clear from the beginning that some members of team Ski Higher were more interested in hitting their boss than their opposition. Despite this they managed to continue through to the final. As a note Johnny is on smelly boot lining cleaning duty for the rest of the season. At the other end of the table the Mark Warner ski hosts despatched team Garry and then Skiworld Catina to make it into the final.
By now I had lost all feeling in my fingers, the batteries in my camera had run out so in the spirit of journalism I buggered off home to warm up and recharge.
According to those with a hardier constitution the final was a very close run affair with only 4 points separating the victors from the losers.
