For most people seeing in the New Year was a peaceful and joyous event. As you can see from the photo of the week nothing says love like your girlfriend licking your face as you kiss her in the eye. Outside TJ's, there were some Anglo-Italian hostilities, after a close encounter with a car and a loose remark about spaghetti, Mussolini and surrendering the Italians decided to kick off. Initially the police opted purely on a spectator role but after a while, presumably as they got bored they decided to join in with the batons and the dogs.
