Revelers see in 2010 on the piste by the croisette

So now the hangover from the end of the noughties has officially subsided it’s time to start 2010 (MMX) or 5770 if you follow the Hebrew calendar and a new decade.
But the big debate is do we called it twenty ten or two thousand and ten? According to the Vancouver olympic committee it’s the former until we get to 2011 when two thousand and eleven sounds better.
Another question is what do we call the new decade? the teenies sounds like a cbeebies program so maybe a word like "Roaring 20s" for the 1920s, would help. Personally I’m copyrighting the term “tumultuous ten’s” as, if nothing else, it sounds good.
Maybe it should be called 2010- the decade that Courchevel finally pulls it finger out and instead of kissing a select few Russian asses starts supporting the mass English holiday maker market. Who am I kidding....
Seriously I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, may it be better than 2009 and may all your dreams come a little closer.

Alpine Excess t-shirts

More CowbellAfter running out of brand names that begin with C and sharing roughly the same length as Courchevel I have transmogrified a certain credit card logo. These can now be purchased directly from the online store on the web site and would make an ideal Christmas present.

Please note item shipped from France will take 3-5 days to arrive in UK. (if the uk post office is not on strike)

Possibly the hardest job in resort.

I’m sure over new years there were a lot taxing jobs carried out by a lot of very skilled people around resort. The Michelin stared chef, the pyrotechnic engineer, the DJ on the piste. But in my opinion there was one person who spent the night “directing traffic” at the entrance to Kalico. On one side of the door was a scrum of people all wanting to get into the club. On the other side of the door was a scrum of people all wanting to get out the club to have a fag. The final group were people who after finishing their smoking (and because they didn’t have their coats) then wanted to get back in the club as quickly as possible. And in middle was Marlon. Like the referee at a rugby match making sure the scrum didn’t collapse. “Let me in Marlon!” “Let my freind in”. I don’t know how he kept his cool all night. I would like to think the English were good at queuing but from what i saw those English had decided to stay at home that night.
