Grumpy old men win 1 valley rally

As the organiser of both the one and three valley rally I always come in for criticism for the lack of rules and hence the decisions and discretion that have to be made in the event of a close finish. Like every year last Wednesday saw five out of ten teams finish within 30 minutes of each other. But enough about the finish let us begin at the beginning.
After three days of heavy snow Wednesday was looking like it would be a complete white out again. As the clock stuck 8.30 I was woken up my Mez and was greeted by patches of blue sky breaking through the whiteness. After threatening to disqualify her team I made my way up to Gringos for the start.
Despite the changeable conditions, a good selection of teams from most of the companies were raring to go. The first clue and ubiquitous egg later the teams headed to the Ski lodge in La Tania where two of the team members had to swap jackets & salopettes. Thanks to the Ski lodge for getting the checkpoint judges drunk on vodka shots.
Off to the Casserole restaurant in 1650 where Ollie's special hot cocktail was waiting for them. By then the pirates had dropped from 2nd to 4th place. One of the items to collect along the way was a condom. I'm not sure what the Bon chefs were expecting but they turned up with 6!
Back over to the Col de la Loze where apple bobbing and Smarties in flour were waiting for the teams. Unfortunately the first team arrived before the Smarties did! By now the pirates trailed the grumpy old trannies by less than ten minutes and with only one checkpoint left it was anyone's race.
Up to the top of Pralong chair for sexual positions and a short dash back to Gringos where a shot of salt water was waiting for the winners.
As always great thanks should go to the unsung checkpoint judges: Holly, Megan, Rob Stephenson, Steph(Inghams), Kelly(Inghams), Sandy(Scott Dunn), Jay(Skival), Jo, Hayley, Kat(Ski academy), Rob Artois & Ollie(Gringos).
